ABOUT ME

My mother once told me when I was about 10-year-old that I will be successful as an artist. Now, this was one of many predictions said allegedly by this Korean witch doctor one random afternoon when my mother was dragged by her ajuma (meaning married women in Korean) friends who decided to spice up their afternoon tea session by making a compulsive and spontaneous visit to one of those tarot card spots near a college town in Seoul.

Once my mother got home, she told me this with a huge laugh--there definitely were some giggling too, I remember. She, back then, thought there is ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE that I will end up with a profession(?) that would be a closer fit to an "art" category. A blogger.
I was a mathlete after all. I dreamt of becoming a big, corporate lawyer like Ally McBeal from the 90s drama/show "Ally McBeal."

Twenty years-ish fast forward, I thought I finally caught a lucky career break when I became a real market researcher freelancer at corporate America...when I heard about this mystery disease, COVID-19, fast approaching every nation all the way from Wuhan. Of course, I knew it was coming to where I was--America! It was bound to happen!!?! but I just didn't realize that my freelancer contract renewal will be heavily affected also by this disease...AT LEAST, not at the time.

I created this blog after my contract ended in April, 2020 to do two things mainly:

1) to create a space where I can share my memories of traveling & talk about truly memorable culinary moments and dishes that I miss greatly (and hopefully, maybe I can recreate them somehow?)

2) spread my love of cooking and tasting food from around the globe with a dash of history lessons & facts (because, who doesn't love a bit of history!)

This blog will be mostly about food but you can also check out some cool non-food items I found randomly online in my "Cool New Finds" section.

Of course, no products (including cookbooks!) are NOT SPONSORED content. Who do you think I am! I am not famous!?! So yes, everything on this blog is purely something I like. I basically just say what I think <3

Rebellious Chicken
